Any person engaged in paleontologic, petrographic, or stratigraphic studies that have application to the geology of petroleum and who work or reside in the Gulf Coast province or whose interest or work is principally within these states is eligible for membership. Membership, once obtained, shall not be dependent upon continued residence in the aforementioned states.
