ED PICOU Fellowship Grant For Graduate Studies in Earth Science
Founded
in 1981, the GCSSEPM Foundation is a tax-exempt, nonprofit organization
whose primary objective is to promote the science of stratigraphy
in the Gulf Coast region through research in sedimentary petrology,
reservoir quality, paleontology, and any other related geological
and geophysical fields, especially as it relates to petroleum geology. |

Doris
Malkin Curtis Medal
The
Gulf Coast Section SEPM is pleased to announce the establishment
of a new award, the Doris Malkin Curtis Medal, which recognizes
geologists for their career contributions in the development of
new concepts for understanding the geology of the Gulf of Mexico
Basin and other basins globally. The award is named in honor of
Doris Malkin Curtis, one of the pioneers in studying the paleontology
and stratigraphy of Gulf Coast Geology. Dr. Curtis worked in the
Gulf Basin for more than 50 years, and served the geologic profession
in many ways.

Fans and Turbidites Systems has been out of print for some
time. Because of the interest in this book, we have scanned it at
high resolution and it is now available as a CD. Because of scanning
at high resolution (to insure figure quality), we did not add word
search for the articles; but you can word search the table of contents.
In addition, individual article files are large and may take longer
than expected to print. Be patient, the results are worth the wait!
Cost is $55 to nonmembers, $50 for SEPM members.
